Organic Macrobiotic Food Jeddah – Abazeer Health Food store

The light shines on Abazeer

Abazeer,

Souk Al Mussadia,

No.3 Madinah Road,

Jeddah, KSA

Tel: (00966) 2 6612285

Abazeer Website

Abazeer is similar to what I would call the equivalent of Whole Foods store in the Kingdom. It has a lot of health foods, including organic food stuffs and a section dedicated to Macrobiotics. The owner is a Chinese herbalist, and not Macrobiotic/Vegan. He has four farms in the Western region and all the fresh produce is mainly grown in the Kingdom. The coolest section is the beauty section, where you can find a selected range of toiletries and make up.The store also has a section dedicated to Alternative Medicine books.

Everything in the store is organic. In thee fresh produce section, you can find organic vegetables, fruit and even meat. They bake their own bread but it still contains yeast and sugar. Despite the cakes looking great, we resisted the temptation to eat it as it has egg powder in it. They also sell alternative dairy, seaweeds, whole grains and beans.

I highly recommend visiting it!

  1. This is a well done post. I am moving to Jeddah next month and I was stressed about the food situation we could have. Knowing that there is an organic food store of such calibre puts my mind at ease, and ticks one thing off the list of things to find. Thank you so much for this post.

    1. Hi there,

      Thanks for visiting.

Kale and beetroot are seasonal, so it would be best to call them before you go there.

As for frozen mixed berries, Abazeer do not currently sell this. I have seen organic frozen mixed berries sold in Danube in Jeddah.

      Hope this helps! 🙂

      1. Hi there,

I don’t think Abazeer sells Chia seeds. I’ve seen chia seeds being sold at Tamimi in Riyadh, but it was super overpriced, at 60SAR for 100g. It’s cheaper to buy the seeds online on Amazon.

        Hope this helps! 🙂

    2. Hello, I am in Jeddah and looking for some place where sells kale here. Does anyone know where I can find it?

      1. Hi Emma,

        Thanks for visiting. 😃
You can find Kale in the imported section of Danube or Carrefour from Dec to May. During the summer months kale is difficult to find. In place of kale, I would suggest using dandelion or molakhiya, which are locally grown and have similiar benefits to kale. Organic molakhiya and dandelion are also found in Abazeer all year round.

        Best,

        Sarah

  2. Having read this I thought it was extremely informative.
I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this
article together. I once again find myself personally spending way too much time both reading and leaving comments.
But so what, it was still worth it!

    1. Hi Thalal,

I know they sell maple syrup but I’m not sure if it’s Grade B. Before you leave, it’s better to check with the store by calling them.

In Riyadh, grade B maple syrup is sold at Danube. If Abazeer doesn’t stock it, Danube in Jeddah could be a good option to check as well.

      Best,

      Sarah

    1. Hi Dorothy,

Apologies for the late response. Kefir grains are currently not available at the store. However, kefir grains can be ordered online and delivered to KSA with no problems.

      Hope this helps.

      Best,
      Sarah

  3. Hi there. Does your store carry hemp seeds or hemp hearts? Also, when exactly do you have kale available? I have gone to Danube and twice I have asked the produce guy for kale. He shakes his head, which tells me that he doesn’t even know what it is. Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Anjum,

I am not sure where to buy Ceylon cinnamon sticks. Perhaps Danube may have it in the imported food section?

      Best wishes,
      Sarah

    1. Hi Aliza,

Yes, they have organic barely, sweet white and rice miso paste. They also sell seaweed. They don’t have bonito flakes.

      Best,
      Sarah

    2. Aliza,
Well I never saw the bonito flakes there.
They do have the organic gluten free miso cubes, edible dried seaweed too & the japanese sencha tea too.
I would suggest you visit their facebook page to view their product catalogue. Its in the photo album.
You could also call them up before visiting or pre-order something on your visit so that you could collect it next time.
      Regards

    1. Hi there,

      Apologies for the late reply.

I am not sure if you can find it in stores yet. You can order online through iherb.com or amazon. Furthermore, the Instagram seller at Instagram.com/tangy_touty might have some.

      Hope this helps!

      Best wishes,
      Sarah

  4. WOW! This was very helpful. I use Neem and Karela capsules. Do they carry these items? Is it difficult getting items like these shipped via amazon?

    1. I think they have the neem but not the Karela. As long as it is shipped in small quantities, with your correct address and telephone number, then shipping via amazon is easy.

      1. Yes that’s fine. You can have up to one years supply with you. Just ensure that the products are sealed and in their original packaging.

  5. To day I visited your store at Madina road. & I bought many items cost me about SR400, among the items HF 7822 organic cheese , when we reach home , I was taken aback there are greenish rotted stained cheeses , I was disappointed , my wife call some one in the store & told her sorry , I will replace it..
Are there any SFDA inspection to your store??
    I felt very bad

    Thank you

If you have whatsup I will send the picture if the rotted cheese

    1. Dr. Faisal,

Thank you for the comment. Abazeer is not my store. Nonetheless, I am sorry to hear of your bad experience with the cheese. If you take it back to the store, they should replace the cheese or refund you the money.

The products are third party certified organic. Since most of the products are preservative free, this could be just a one off instant.

      Best wishes,
      Sarah

  6. Hi Sarah,
I would love to know if the store is selling any gluten free breadstick? or grissini breadsticks in particular?

    thanks!
