Jeddah and Makkah based readers, I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but there’s an organic farm that’s offering home delivery of fresh organic produce directly to you! The company is called Organica, and they grow all their food in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
They sell organic fruits, vegetables and also organic grass fed lamb. Their website has the full range of produce and email them for more information. Before you ask, Organica will also be selling organic kale in the next few months!
I haven’t personally ordered from them yet. If you have, please let me know how your delivery went.
Organica offers subscriptions on a monthly basis, with a choice of receiving 1,2 or 3 boxes a week. Each box contains 10kg of certified organic fruits and vegetables.
- One box per week for one month = 900 SAR (total of 4 boxes and 40kg)
- Two boxes per week for one month = 1800 SAR (total of 8 boxes and 80kg)
- Three boxes per week for one month = 2700 SAR (total of 12 boxes and 120kg)
Currently deliveries are mainly to Jeddah and Mecca. However, they can ship orders to Riyadh at added cost. (Perhaps Riyadh based people can form a group to share the shipping costs?)
Anyway, please let me know if you’ve ordered from them and what you think of the quality of their produce. I’m sure Organica would also appreciate your feedback.
I heard of Organica through the FoodEx Saudi exhibition in December. Another company that caught my interest was Beyti Express, a company that offers a Saudi chilled ready meal delivery service.
PS I wish you all a wonderful and successful new year! May your 2014 be filled with joy, success and great health! Loosen the tension in the neck and improve your digestion!
